Product description
Let a sheet of infinitely large dimensions made of a conductive material lie in a plane perpendicular to the magnetic field B, as shown in the figure. a) If the magnetic field suddenly changes, its complete change will not be instantly detected in the region P. How do you explain this? b) Explain why, if the resistivity of the sheet is zero, a change in the magnetic field will not be detected at all in the region P. c) If the magnetic field changes periodically with a high frequency, and the conducting sheet is made of a material of low resistivity, then the region near point P will be almost completely shielded from changes in magnetic flux. Explain why this is so. d) Would such a conductor be useful as a shield from static magnetic fields?
